Merapani, May 23: A nasty road accident took place near Gamari under the Merapani subdivision on Saturday morning, leaving a female commuter seriously hurt. The incident happened when a Hyundai Santro car with registration number AS-03 5264 suddenly spun out of control. It ran off the tarmac and flipped over into a steep roadside ditch. Reports state that the vehicle was traveling towards Kamarbandha from Chalongpathar when the driver unexpectedly lost steering grip on that highway stretch.

According to local people who saw the crash, the impact was quite violent and heavily smashed the front section of the small hatchback. While the other folks inside the vehicle luckily got out without any major harm, one woman passenger took severe hits to her head and upper torso.
